Carles Sora-Domenjó is an interdisciplinary scholar, new media artist and interactive designer whose theoretical and practical research explores the intersections of technology, audiovisual, culture and arts. He is currently Director of the Center for Image and Multimedia Technologies (CITM) at UPC-BarcelonaTech.

He has been involved in several research and artistic digital projects interrogating new forms of storytelling, performance and visual arts, which have been presented at international conferences and venues. He is now Associate Professor at CITM/UPC, has a PhD in digital media by Pompeu Fabra University (2015), was Fulbright Postdoctoral Fellow at MIT Open Doc Lab (Massachusetts Institute of Technology, 2017-2019) and has M.S. in Cognitive Systems and Interactive Media (UPF, 2009). Sora’s PhD dissertation developed a framework on digital time and interactive narratives.

He has contributed in several competitive research projects, co-lead the AI&MUSIC EU S-T-ARTS @Sonar 21, published a book about digital temporalities, commissioned the first XR exhibition for Kosmopolis’ festival at CCCB, designed a webdoc, tour internationally with live-cinema performances, founded Starting Lab -a digital media incubator program, designed the first applied research Communication doctoral program in Spain at UPF, directed a magical interactive show, and developed several interactive projects for cultural institutions and artist…
